Bikini Shell x Life On the Run

On July 20 at the Funkshion Fashion Tents, 20 carefully selected fashion design students from the Miami International University of Art and Design (MIU) presented one super sized individual couture creation to compete for this year’s $5000 scholarship presented by the Cabrera/Bentancout Organization comprised of a coalition of McDonald’s owners in the Southern Florida Districts. @McD_SouthFLA

THE BUZZ???  To CREATE THE MOST FAB McD COUTURE SWIM RESORT COLLECTION made entirely of McDONALD’s packaging!!  … And so they did.

So what would a Swim Show be without a Kaftan robe or two in the mix.. Try these on for size. These long full length resort style robed kaftans make you forget you just ate your lunch out of them..

Perfectly designed trends to match this year’s raves in womens and mens street style and resort style selections. The mens vests for HIM to match HER are the perfect swap at any pool lounge bbq both sides of the Mississippi and beyond…

As you could imagine, the competition was fierce with these selections but as promised there would be one receiver to this year’s scholar and it went to MIU student Pablo Machado Palomeque with his Winged Angel inspired McD Couture framework matched with a Head Bonnet to make any teaparty attendee envious!! With more than a smile this McBabe had more than a Happy Meal to go.

McDCouture Makes A Splash At Miami Swim Week ( BSG)

This super fun and angelic ensemble included a ‘fry box of flowers, a bundle box headset and 7000 butterflies made from sandwich wrappers.’ The material also included,, ’10 Soft Baked Cookie boxes, 20 Filet-o-Fish boxes, 700 Burrito wrappers, 20 Signature Crafted Sandwich boxes, 100 McFlurry cups, 100 Bundle boxes, 150 Apple Pie boxes, 50 Happy Meal boxes, 400 Bacon Egg & Cheese Bagel wrappers and 400 fry boxes. ‘

As not all these amazing designers could be the recipient of this year’s award, be sure you will be seeing more of their designs in future ready to wear and selected styled department stores for young teens and resort collections.
